A winter fairy tale in Ratschings

You feel the cold winter breeze on your skin. Snowy peaks, glittering ice crystals, the bright blue sky. Winter offers various activities in Ratschings: cross-county-skiing on the trail directly in front of the hotel. Perfect skiing days in the skiing area Ratschings/Jaufen. Fun on skis for everybody

You can’t get enough of skiing at the skiing area Ratschings/Jaufen. Great slopes, perfectly prepared every day and everybody can find the right one for themselves. A breath-taking view. The kids enjoy their time at the ski school, the parents theirs on the wide slopes. You can reach the valley station of the cable car within a 10 minutes’ walk or with the free ski shuttle. Thanks to our ski room, you will have warm ski boots every morning.

Cross-country-skiing with a great view

Go up with the cable car and enjoy skiing through snowy forests until you reach the Platschjoch. The high-altitude trail Platschjoch is very beautiful. At an altitude of 1.800m, you can enjoy a great view while cross-country-skiing. Next to the trail, there is a beautiful path, perfect for beautiful winter hikes. Who prefers walking offside the paths, can put on snowshoes and hike to the Platschjoch.

Ski tour to the Glaitner Hochjoch

Untouched snow, no people around. The hike to Glaitner Hochjoch with your touring skis is partly very steep. But once you reach the peak and see the view, the effort was totally worth it. Take a deep breath and enjoy the calm and vastness. Then, leave your trace in the snow when skiing down. Simply wonderful, far away from your stressful and hectic everyday life.

Find out more about the wizard

Have you heard about Pfeifer Huisele, our most famous mythical figure? On the Pfeifer-Huisele-trail in Flading, you can find out interesting information about him. Information signs with texts and pictures talk about his life and lead to the ruins of his birthplace. An easy winter path in the valley for everybody. Going back, you can walk or take the bus.

The Christmas market in Sterzing

Childhood memories are revived at the Christmas market in Sterzing. The old town has a very special atmosphere. You can smell gingerbread, cinnamon and cookies. At the market, you can buy beautiful gifts and handmade Christmas decoration. You can walk up the stairs to the top of the tower and listen to the bells. Our special advice: in the evening, a torchlight hike from Sterzing to Ratschings takes place. A unique experience!
